Change your Perspective

Life is all about perspectives. You grow up and you perceive your surroundings through your own eyes all the time. You can only experience the world from this point of view and, on that note, your own perspective. As a consequence you have a limited view upon the world. But you shouldn’t let this fact determine your mind’s eye: the world is so much bigger than we can imagine. So often in our daily lives we are confronted with prejudice and this concerns every single one of us: we use pre-built opinions and also get ourselves labelled like this by others. It’s a sad thing that we still need to talk about this topic – it’s 2019, shouldn’t human mankind have learned through their mistakes? I’m not blaming anybody. We all have recoursed to preconceptions – more than once. It’s human to do so: our instincts tell us that we need to be cautious with everything new and unknown. This hasn’t to be a bad thing per se, but you need to keep in mind that this might be far away from the truth. In 2019 we don’t fight about territories anymore. My life isn’t dependent on food and shelter (although the sad truth is that others are). I’m afraid of loosing the people I love, making wrong decisions and bother about fashion purchases. How could society come so far and still stay underdeveloped? Modern wars are on resources, religions, inventions – but for what?

We all are humans. We all share one home. We are all in this together.

It’s about time that every single one of us opens their mind’s eye and extends it to have a wider and clearer vision upon the world we live in. You don’t need to wait to make a change, neither do you need others to develop a new perspective. What are the things you condemn, although your reasons might not be sustainable?

Every human being has a life, a family, a history, feelings and thoughts – why don’t we start treating everyone equal no matter the appearance, gender, origin?

You know nothing. I know nothing. Only my own history, feelings and thoughts. My perspective is based upon those things but this doesn’t mean that I can be ignorant than and live in my own egocentric world. It’s an overwhelming thought that there are so many lights burning in the dark, all on their own. And every single light reflects an I, a personality, which is afraid of opening up the chapters of their own history. Afraid of reactions, afraid of people, afraid of starting to bloom. We are all alone. There is no one who lives your life for you. But we can make things better by opening up, by talking to others, by changing our perspective through connecting it with others.

You know about your flaws, about the things you refuse. I think it helps to make clear where these opinions and perspectives come from and then start to question yourself if those are really useful. I have to admit that I’m afraid of many things in life and I’m trying to overcome my fears step by step. Once you’ve seen the uncertain in the eyes it becomes certain, something more specific to work with. As a child I was afraid of dogs. Every time I saw a dog nearby I was screaming for my parents to help me out of that situation. Today I love dogs and I really would love to adopt one. What I want to tell you though this little anecdote, is that you can extend your perspective. No matter if it’s regarding human prejudice or other difficulties you might experience on a daily basis. Your light isn’t the only one burning: start a huge bonfire by connecting with others. Don’t be afraid to speak up, speak loud.

Make your light shine brighter: Change your perspective.

Lots of love,

In diesem Fall past das Sprichwort back to the roots perfekt.

    Wundervolle Bilder & Blogpost Girl!
