Kissing Winter Goodbye

It’s February and at the latest by now it’s finally time for me to think about spring. Winter is my least favorite season: it’s always dark, cold and snowy and I don’t like any of these “qualities”.

I often also tend to boycott the season by wearing looks which aren’t quite appropriate for the weather (see the above) because I get sick of many layers and huge coats pretty fast (although this is also the reason why I get excited at the end of summer for autumn – split personality much? 😀 ).

Anyways, let’s talk spring fashion!

What are the trends we need to know for the upcoming season?

BEIGE

You know I love beige (see why here) and luckily beige is here to stay!

I think the best way to combine beige is with other naturals like brown, black, white or sand. But don’t underestimate the power of a monochrome look: so you can also go for beige on beige.

HEADWEAR

Hats

Don’t leave the house without your hat! We’ve seen a lot of hats during the SS19 fashion shows and I think this also affects our style for the upcoming months. And why not? Hats are super functional as they provide a shade at sunny days on one hand and keep your head warm during the early days of spring on the other. Despite that: Hats come in chic and cool designs which will definitely upgrade your whole look 😉

Accessories

Another big thing which I keep spotting on Instagram with increased frequency are all kinds of hair accessories. It doesn’t matter whether it’s hair clips with pearls, embellished head bands, scrunchies or a sophisticated silk shawl. Hair accessories are everywhere and here to stay. So maybe it’s time to shop a few new hair pieces before we are finally ready to start into the new season!

PISTACHIO

Pastel colors are of course a big issue every spring, but I’m more than glad about the new color trend pistachio. Soft blue and green tones go perfectly along with the ease of spring. I already bought some new pistachio pieces for my wardrobe and honestly can’t wait to wear them out.

BOILERSUITS

Work-wear is back and it comes in the coolest way possible: a boiler suit.

The ultra comfy one-piece is definitely worth a second chance. Wear it with cool cowboy boots, casual sneakers or add some spice with a statement belt.

STATEMENT SHOES

Shoes are a big issue for me. I’m a shoe addict so I really love browsing through the latest shoe trends. We’ve seen cowboy boots the last season a lot and I’m sure we are still going to see some of them in spring. Whereas for late spring the focus lays on strappy sandals and extravagant mules.

BOLD COLORS & PATTERNS

With the beginning of spring colors take the stage back. Winter is often related to non-colors like black, white, grey and other dark soft colors. This spring we are going to see a lot of green, yellow and orange, but also a variety of patterns from animal over scarf to floral prints.

What’s your favorite trend for spring 2019?

Mine is definitely beige and pistachio (who would have thought that? 😉 ) but I also upgraded by hair accessory game already.

I’m so looking forward to the warmer days, some sun rays and of course spring fashion!

Wishing you a wonderful start into the new week,
